Toro Wheel Horse replacement Tie Rods. These replace OEM part numbers 78-2900, 78-2900-01, 5628, 5629, 102592, and 102593. These are for right hand side or left hand side.

You will be receiving two (2) unpainted complete tie rods as pictured = (4) ball joints (4) nuts and (2) rods assembled and ready to bolt on your tractor (after you adjust them).

These adjust from 8 3/4″ to 9 3/8″ center to center and are replaceable. The overall length is 9 5/8″. They are standard right hand threads on both with one end threaded on tight and adjustment on the other. The short pieces of threaded rod are bottomed out in the threads of the solid round bar and have Loctite on them so they don’t move, then when the loctite had dried the ball joints are threaded on. We all know Wheel Horses last forever, but the tie rods don’t so these were made to easily replace the ball joints in the future with easily found right hand threads.

Easy to determine your need: Measure your old tie rod from center of stud to center of stud and determine if it will fit by measurements above.

These were used on most models manufactured in the years of 1962-1992.

REPLACEABLE TIE RODS…KEEP TIE ROD AND JUST CHANGE THE BALL JOINTS.

Note that these will take 3/8″ x 24 right hand thread ball joints on both sides when replacing.

They are 3/8″ x 24 female thread and 3/8″ x 24 male thread.
